Temporary files
What happens to cancelled, failed or unused uploads.
Temporary files are created during upload, OCR, conversion, preview and export. They should exist only as long as the processing step requires them.
Creation
A worker may briefly download, unpack or transform a file. Working directories must be separated by job and file names normalised safely.
Automatic cleanup
Temporary artefacts should be removed after success or failure. Recurring cleanup handles abandoned files, and failures belong in monitoring.
Not permanent storage
Temporary paths are not a document archive and must not be publicly accessible. Permanent results belong only in the designated protected storage.
